The issue we are currently experiencing with customer-based discounts is currently impacting a very small number of Square sellers within a specific scenario:
- iOS Square app version 5.92.1 is being used - Automated customer-based discounts are configured - A customer has been added to a sale while building a cart in Square Point of Sale, Square Appointments, Square for Retail or Square for Restaurants
For now, we recommend impacted sellers turn off automated customer-based discounts and instead apply manual discounts to these transactions at point of sale. We’re resolving this incident, though we will continue monitoring the situation and will provide further updates if we see an increase in impacted sellers. We anticipate the bug causing this issue will be fixed in the forthcoming 5.91.2 release.

We have confirmed reports of this issue also affecting Square for Restaurants, Square for Retail, and Square Appointments when applying Customer-Based Discounts to a sale.
